This is one to keep to yourself. Despite your scintillating personality, good looks and bonhomie the less said about February the 29th the better.
That is the less said to your “permanent” employee co-workers.
Now I know the 29th of February only comes around once every 4 years and during your time as an interim manager it may fall on a Saturday or Sunday, however when it does come around on a midweek work day rejoice!
Here is the reason why; quite simply this is the day that you will be paid and your co-workers wont. This is National Interim Managers Day.
The staff are paid an annual salary regardless of the fact that there are 365 or 366 days in the year, or put another way they don’t get paid for 29th February.
Whereas you charge per day, and on this day you will still be paid.
A small victory in the life of the “Office Based Mercenary”, but a victory nonetheless.
Just whisper it to others of our calling, BUT don’t tell the workers.
