Greenwell Gleeson are working exclusively with successful and profitable SME business based in Tamworth to recruit a Financial Accountant on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a great Financial Controller who fully supports their team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Manage expense reports including credit card and fuel cards
Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
JSOX reporting knowledge (desired but not essential)
Support the senior accountant with various accounting projects and tasks as required.
Data Insight & Visualisation: Transform raw financial data into actionable insights through the creation of dashboards and visual reports. You will be responsible for “cleaning” and updating datasets to ensure a single source of truth.
Financial Narratives: Bridge the gap between numbers and operations by “telling the story” of the company’s performance. You will interpret monthly variances and financial trends to explain the why behind the numbers to non-financial stakeholders.
Business Intelligence Support: Support the senior leadership team with ad-hoc data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, revenue drivers, and operational efficiencies.
Continuous Data Improvement: Periodically review financial data structures and reporting tools to improve the speed and accuracy of business intelligence.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (not essential) QBE will be considered.
Proven experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
