Anyone For Cricket

Anyone for Cricket?

Summer is officially here. England has wrapped up the series against Sri Lanka. Warwickshire Bears has made a positive start to the County Championship, likewise Worcester Rapids in the T20 Blast. We thought it only right we keep the cricket whites flying by arranging a match at the MCC – Moseley Cricket Club – a founding member of the oldest cricket club league in the world.

It will be our own take on the T20 Blast …… ‘the Annual greenwellgleeson T20 Breeze’. It is aimed at those of you who actively play and on your day can be the Chris Gayle or Ben Stokes of Midlands cricket. Equally it is aimed at those who can only reminisce of past glories where a position at cover will happily be traded in for 1st slip never to be budged even if the opposition are 120 for 0.

The plan is for a full game 20 over game (with a slight twist), with everyone bowling and batting. You’ll have the opportunity to play on a pitch used by Warwickshire County Cricket Club for their non-first class fixtures at a cricket club steeped in history.  We plan to start the game at 6pm. Food and drinks will be provided throughout and after the match. Limited amounts of playing kit will be available too.

If you’re interested in playing, please register your interest as soon as possible with a member of the GG team by phone, email or simply drop a line to GGsocial@ggltd.co.uk
