Financial Controller

Greewellgleeson are recruiting for a great opportunity to work with a rapidly growing wholesale business based in Birmingham.

In a no. 2 role, you will report into the Head of Finance in a new team, with direct access to key decision makers.

Duties will include:

Day to day management of the transactional Finance team
*

Produce the Management Accounts for the business and present to the Senior Management Team
*

Preparation of monthly site and cost centre P&L and balance sheet
*

Support the senior finance team with the budgeting and forecasting processes
*

Support and manage the Year End Audit process
*

Ensure Departmental KPI’s are maintained
*

Train and develop the Finance Team
*

Develop relationships with key financial and non-financial stakeholders such operational staff
*

In depth financial analysis and ownership across inventory
*

Routine variance analysis and commentary
*

Management of cost centre budgets & variance analysis with budget holders
*

Balance sheet reconciliations
*

VAT & Duty Tax Management
*

Help produce detailed and accurate presentations to be presented to senior management
*

Drive continuous improvement across accounting controls and processes
*

Drive the cost reduction project across the whole business
*

Ad-hoc duties

Skills, Requirements, Qualifications

*

Fully qualified ACA/ ACMA/ ACCA
*

Experience in managing and developing colleagues in a fast-moving environment and taking the team with you
*

Strong excel skills including Pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs
*

A proactive “can-do” approach
*

Comfortable discussing financial principles with non-financial staff
*

The ability to challenge opinions and interrogate company data
*

Experience in analysing large amounts of data and making recommendations following the analysis
*

Demonstrable expertise in improving processes and implementing new ways of working
*

FMCG experience desirable
