Greenwellgleeson are working with a successful manufacturing business based in Dudley with a £50 million turnover. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take direct responsibility for the finance function of the group’s principal trading subsidiary and will oversee the finance functions of the manufacturing subsidiary companies in the UK and USA.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that is looking for that progression to Finance Director level within a reasonable timeframe.

Responsibilities

Direct input into the preparation and subsequent review and reporting of the monthly management accounts

Preparation and review of the management accounts for the companies’ subsidiaries.
*

Preparation of the monthly consolidated group management accounts and reporting pack.
*

Management of the finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and weekly and monthly payroll.
*

Maintenance and development of financial controls and systems, including costing systems.
*

Ensuring integrity of product costing to support margin and price decisions for the retail price guide, tender submissions, e-auctions and one-off pricing requirements.
*

Liaison with professional advisers, auditors and bankers.
*

Managing the annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts in conjunction with the auditors.
*

Ensuring tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax.
*

Preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, working with departmental heads to ensure delivery of targets and reviewing resource requirements as necessary.

The candidate should be an ambitious fully qualified accountant with experience gained in manufacturing and distribution

You should have experience of using a fully integrated ERP system and be comfortable working with non-financial personnel at all levels of the business. Good internal and external communication skills are therefore imperative.
