Finance Business Partner / Business Controller

Our client: is part of a family owned international Group, the UK business is enjoying year on year growth and is on target to meet projected growth in the medium and long term. The business serves the FMCG sector providing a contract based solution to both large global brand customers and SME’s for supply chain and logistics, ensuring efficiency, simplicity and above all sustainability. There is an onus on investment in account management, keeping very close to customers and ensuring satisfaction, repeat business and referrals.

The business is constantly evolving and the whole team work collaboratively to be flexible when adapting to change. It is a data heavy business operating a complex logistics network requiring operating and financial performance metrics to drive improvements and help the business achieve its tactical and strategic objectives – it is mainly for this reason that this new position is being created.

The Role: The Business Controller will report to the MD with a dotted line to the European divisional FD, within the UK & Irish business and will sit on the management team. The primary deliverable is to provide strong financial management support and to challenge existing processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in steering the business towards achieving it’s short and long term goals. Ideally seeking a qualified finance professional who can easily build relationships and have the right chemistry to gel at all levels.

The Accounting function has been moved to a SSC facility abroad at the European Head office of the company, this role has no hands on “month end” responsibility and will work closely with international colleagues to ensure smooth flow of information for accurate monthly reporting of financials.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for commercial evaluation of new and existing contracts, customer profitability and pricing recommendations

Supports Sales and Marketing to identify potential opportunities, risks and challenges
*

Supports management’s decision making through the extraction, analysis, modelling and presentation of commercial and financial data for business proposals
*

Cashflow – control of Capex and working capital
*

Support effective and efficient planning and control cycle
*

Gathering of commercial data across functions using appropriate IS tools and respective analysis with relevant conclusions and recommendations to senior management.

Consideration, evaluation and critique of commercial proposals and future scenario modelling

Package

The salary range will be £45k-55k basic salary.

The package will include;

Pension contribution of 7.5%

Bonus of up to 2 months’ salary based on achievement of profit, cash and other targets

Requirements:

*

Qualified Accountant (ACMA,ACCA or ACA)
*

Experience in a financial or analytical-related position would be beneficial
*

Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
*

Relationship builder, excellent communicator and organizer
*

Critical thinker, ability to anticipate & provide scenarios for different problems
