ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – WOLVERHAMPTON – PERM – 28-32Kpa

Greenwellgleeson is exclusively recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join a successful business based in Wolverhampton. My client has very realistic plans to increase its turnover by 50%, they have already heavily invested in equipment to cope with demand. This is a newly created role to support the business’s growth. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress as the business grows.

Responsible for accurately recording financial transactions in the company’s accounting software or ledger. This includes entering invoices, receipts, expenses, and other financial data.

Reconciliation of financial records to ensure that there are no discrepancies between different accounts, such as bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Processing Supplier invoices, verifying accuracy, and ensuring payments are made on time. Dealing with supplier enquiries and resolving issues.

Processing sales invoices, recording payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
*

Monitoring and recording expenses incurred by the company.
*

Assisting in preparing financial reports such as P&L accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Managing bank transactions, including reconciling bank statements, processing deposits, and handling bank-related tasks.
*

Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
*

Assisting in tax-related tasks, such as calculating and preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and assisting with audits if necessary.

Providing support during financial audits by organising and presenting financial data and assisting auditors in their examination of financial records.
*

Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts by providing historical financial data and input on anticipated expenses and revenues.
*

Assisting with general administrative tasks within the finance department, such as filing, organising documents, and supporting other team members.
