Team GG generally have very low expectations entering this tournament as we generally struggle to score (though we are good at not conceding). 2018 was different gravy as we rejigged the squad and, due to holidays & injuries brought in some new talent on loan. We couldn’t have got off to a better start winning our first game 2-0 against Higgs & Sons (B), this was swiftly followed up by an unprecedented successive win (1-0) against Smith Cooper. After this initial flurry of points, and goals, we reverted to type and drew 0-0 against (a much younger) KPMG and lost our last game 1-0 to St James Place.
These results meant that we entered the Plate competition and we lost 2-0 to CK Chartered Accountants (again a much younger squad)…
We would like to extend our gratitude to Andy Millington, Skott Hughes, Adam Woodall, Steve Parry, Jon Barber and Steve Harris for being there and we look forward to 2019 with renewed hope and vigour!
