November 2016 Newsletter

Clock is ticking…

As we get closer to the end of the year, many clients are looking at their structures and teams for the forthcoming year and now is the time to recruit to ensure that the new person is “in situ” early into next year. Our team can offer recruitment from AP/AR/Payroll & Credit, through to Finance Director, and everything in between, on both a permanent and temporary basis.

31st December remains a popular date for year-end, the impending audit may mean that there is a strong need for temporary Accountants. These temps can be used this side of Christmas to prepare for the year-end or during January, when the audit actually kicks off. Click here and your e-mail with be received by our Temp team and they will be in touch straight away.

Birmingham Christmas Market

It’s that time of year again – Bier, Gluhwein und really long Bratwurst. The iconic Birmingham’s Frankfurst Christmas market lands today, and we’ll be looking to share a couple of German delicacies with you in the coming weeks.

One of the first dates confirmed is the 8th December – register your interest here.

If you’re in Birmingham on a specific date and are free for a catch up, let us know which date – we would love to join you for a drink and a natter.

We will also be arranging other dates to meet up and chat, so register your interest to receive German Market updates in the coming weeks.

If any other social events sound good to you in 2017, such as comedy club visits, casino trips, paintballing days and even golf days, let us know what you’re up for, and we’ll endeavour to sort it out!

The Final Quarter

We are looking ahead to a busy quarter for new instructions, particularly on the permanent side of things. Our Part/Newly/Post Qualified team (headed by Duncan Wise) lead the way with clients keen to seek first-time movers from Medium-sized practices. There also seems to be strong need for Accountants with a strong Manufacturing understanding.

As a business, we continue to be well spread across the whole finance spectrum for AP/AR Clerks to Finance Director. The Transactional team (headed up by Paul Hancock & ably assisted by Barry Sheldon) have really come into their own this year, and are currently working on a variety of Payroll, Credit Control and Purchase Ledger vacancies. At the other end of the scale, our Exec Division (headed by Steve Rai) have been kept busy with a variety of Finance Director opportunties that have come from our Corporate clients and also the VC/PE backed space.

Should you require an Interim resource to bridge any staffing gaps, or fill in specific project assignments, then please speak to Rob Lawton, Rebecca Cooper or Leanne Guest.

We are looking to forward to a busy end to 2016 and we hope that the economy remains resilient to any post-Brexit pressure. Should you be looking for a career change or to recruit then please drop an email to info@ggltd.co.uk or call 0121 233 9911.

2016 Annual Contractor’s Evening

greenwellgleeson hosted our annual contractor’s evening at the start of the month at the Cost Club in Central Birmingham. As always, an enjoyable evening that offers the opportunity for like-minded professional finance Interims to network and of course, enjoy a beer or two on us.

Providing Interims and Contractors to the market remains paramount to our success and is a core component of our business.

The evening was part of our on-going commitment to deliver an industry leading service to Interims, a service that has once again been recognised as the best in the UK by the Institute of Interim Management 2016 survey. For the 5th consecutive year, we have been ranked the No1 Specialist Financial Recruiter in the UK. More about the survey can be found here.

We had c40 professional Interims join the whole of the greenwellgleeson team. Needless to say that everyone who attended found the evening to be enjoyable, informationve and an excellent opportunity to build their network of contacts. We hope to see more new faces next year!

The Full Monty

2016 has been a very busy year for greenwellgleeson socially and we have tried to offer something that appeals to everyone. So needless to say when Leanne and Rebecca heard The Full Monty was coming to town, we just had to get tickets.

This was the perfect opportunity for a “ladies evening” and sure enough, it did not disappoint. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all in the, shall we say, “spirited” atmosphere. While the boy’s blushes were spared by some masterful lighting techniques, we can undoubtably agree that the experience was definitelyThe Full Monty.
