A new CFO has been recently installed immediately post acquisition by a PE firm. It has become quickly apparent to the CFO that the business may be suffering from a number of controls and process issues. Lacking the bandwidth to investigate the scale and breadth of the issues it has been decided to hire an interim for 6 weeks to undertake a review of the processes and controls that currently exist and to provide management with a review with recommendations to amend where appropriate. Most of the focus will be on finance and accounting controls but that may well broaden to other areas of the business. The right consultant will be able to provide a demonstrable track record in improving processes and controls in other businesses.
