In response to both recent growth and future plans the Executive team has highlighted the need to attract a world class Group Controller. Reporting to the CFO the Group Controller will lead the group finance reporting team in the provision of relevant and timely financial information to the Group Board. This information will enable a balanced and objective assessment of the group’s strategy and objectives. The right professional will effectively, motivate, lead and develop the group finance team and posses a strong technical, compliance and governance skill base but not obsessed to the point that they will not be able to assimilate within a fast growing highly de-centralised and dynamic environment.

The key challenge with the role will be keeping up with the growth of the business and within a constant change environment ensuring world class financial reporting, control and governance is maintained by leading a sizeable and growing team effectively.

Job Description

*

Manage external financial reporting, providing annual financial reports, half year reports, regular trading updates and presentations to public investors.

Provide timely, relevant and accurate Group Management Accounts
*

Manage the Group Financial systems with a view to further develop accuracy, speed and reporting capability as the group continues to grow. Encourage Group systems use by Divisions to drive consistency and accuracy

Accountability for review and update of the group’s internal control environment
*

To assist the Group Finance Director in respect of periodic reports to the group’s audit committee, explaining the processes adopted and undertaken by management to keep under regular review the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational & compliance controls

Acquisition and integration management
*

Presentations and other content for board users
*

Strengthening links with divisional finance directors and shape the development of the finance function with the Group
*

Liaise with different divisions and other group functions to ensure the group finance team is properly supporting the needs throughout the RPC organisation

Technical / Practical Experience

*

Hold a recognised accountancy qualification;
*

Possess a demonstrable track record of delivering excellent control and reporting frameworks in a similar position within a large manufacturing organisation, ideally a PLC.

The role will be based at RPC’s Head Office in Rushden, Northamptonshire. The Group Controller will be required to be based there a minimum of four days a week to demonstrate the leadership behaviours and build effective relationships with the team.
